Leaving from Lutzelbourg

On one side crystal glass factories , fortified and artistic towns. On the other the superb Alsace plain with its wine villages and wooden framed houses, gastronomic specialities, numerous museums.

Saverne offers to the river tourist a princely stopover : a marina with 70 moorings in the Grand Bassin of the canal of the Marne to the Rhine, opposite the Château des Rohan and its gardens.

Follow the course of the canal Canal de la Marne to the Rhine, which will on one hand allow you to discover the richness of the Moselle region such as the inclined slope of Plan Incliné de Saint-Louis Arzwiller, the Rocher of Dabo or Phalsbourg, 'la Pépinière des Braves'.
On the other, the Canal takes you to Strasbourg offering a panorama of various green valleys, hop countries and archeological sites.

The Inclined slope of d'Arzwiller

The inclined slope , is one of the most visited river sites in France, in service since the 27th January 1969.

This replaces a stair of 17 successive locks, which necessitated a whole day of navigation.

The visit of this site and the machine rooms allows the visitor to familiarise themselves with world of boating.

Nancy, City of art and history

Nancy is a multiple city, rich from its history. It is a place of permanent discovery in all senses of the word.
