Leaving from Argens

Le Canal du Midi

Exceptional creation of Pierre-Paul Riquet réalisée in the XVIIth century, detoured by Carcassonne in 1777-1798.

You should see the whole of this masterpiece (the Cammazes, the Saint-Ferréol dam, the lock at Fonsérannes, etc..) to measure the magnitude of the task undertaken nearly 300 years ago. A concentrate of hydrographique, topographics, geometry and architecture of its period, the canal still continues to astonish

The commune of 'ARGENS MINERVOIS is crossed by the Canal du Midi, and to the South .

Situated 20 km from NARBONNE and 40 km from CARCASSONNE, it is the boundary of the Hérault department

Half way from the Mediterranean (35 km) and the Montagne Noire, it benefits from a priviliged position at heart of a n area with a rich history. (Minerve 12 km, the Cathares castles of Corbières and of Minervois, the city de Carcassonne

Leaving from Lattes

Situated between Montpellier, regional capital, and the sea, beside the lakes, Latte offers a certain quality of life to its inhabitants. Today Latte is no longer beside the sea, but thanks to the Port Ariane it is able to renew its original links.

That of a great port, which played a major part in the growth of the economy in the region of Languedoc-Roussillon.

Come and discover :

  • The archeological museum Henri-Prades and the excavations still going on
  • Its natural site protected from the Méjean and its nature house ;
  • Port Ariane, numerous shops and restaurants, the harbour masters house,...
  • Roman church (endXIIth century ) and its new church (situated in Port Ariane), symbol of a cohabitation between the past and the present ;
  • Its horse rides, walking and cycling paths ;
  • Its horse festivals (camargue races, bandidos, ferrades...) ;
  • Its theatre festival
