Automobile museum in Vendee
150 véhicles, automobiles, motorcycles, cycles, etc... as well as an important collection of ancient hoardings and signs .
Around 45 vehicle types are represented from the De Dion Bouton steam car of 1885 to the prototypes of the future SOGNA and VERA which arrived this year from Italy.
Each year we present 3 or 4 new models which emerge from our reserves des stores having been restored during the winter months.
There are numerous vehicles which took part in recent national and international rallies.

All of our trips end with a free visit to the exhibition (the entry ticket is covered in the fee for the trip ) which presents the salt makers craft and the ecological wealth of the salt marshes throughout the seasons.

In all weathers, there is a maritime link between Fromentine and l'Ile d'Yeu, initially by sailing barge which left from outside the mole and thereafter with steam and motor boats which still leave from the original wooden jetty. At the beginning of the century, la Société de Navigation à Vapeur
" L'ISLAISE ", a private company, ran a postal packet from PORT-JOINVILLE / FROMENTINE. It also assured the crossing to the island of NOIRMOUTIER aleaving from FROMENTINE àgoing to LA FOSSE de BARBÂTRE with aboat named " LE GOULET ".

THE GREAT BLOCKAUS
12 scenes reconstituated at the Great Blockhaus
From 1939 to 1945
From the daily life under the occupation , to the surrender of the fortress of Saint Nazaire , through the raid of the British Commandos without forgetting the liberation of the pocket , you will be guided through six years of history which it must be admitted are less well known than that of the battle of Normandy. All of the scenes have bee entirely reconstitued.
In the same way, it is the same care, the same eye for detail used in the reconstitutions that bring the Blokhaus so much to life, no effort is necessary to understand how the daily life of the German soldier was organised in this firing point as each room has been left as it was intended originally.

Zoo of Doué la Fontaine

In1811, Jean Ackerman, after a visit to Champagnedecided to set up in the Loire valley in Saumur where he found the climatic conditions and the soil type that would enable him to elaborate the original methods which would afford him the immense qualities that he had discovered.
The white wines of the region sparkle naturally : the soil guarantees a basic wine of quality, the cellars dug out of the limestone rocks favour a secondary fermentation and a gentle process ensures the rest.
